The first statistics have been released from the 2009 School Achievement and Attainment tables. These are still provisional as they are being checked by schools but they confirm our earlier conclusions that A level entries in schools have increased this year, while for the first time since 2000 the percentage of pupils in schools acheiveing a GCSE or equivalent has remained unchanged (at 44%) At both GCSE and A level the numbers achieving higher grades continues to increase. |
